The Association functions as a platform for scientific research exchange, the training of surgeons and traumatologists, and the introduction of modern surgical practices. Its work is directed towards reducing mortality and complications in patients with polytrauma and acute surgical conditions through an interdisciplinary approach.

Qualified physicians — primarily surgeons, traumatologists, anaesthesiologists and emergency physicians, but also all doctors with a clinical profile, as well as trainee (intern) doctors.

Is the ATLS course licensed in Bulgaria?

ATLS training in Bulgaria is officially licensed solely by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and BESTS.

What is the status of the ATLS course conducted here?

The ATLS course has international legitimacy — it is conducted under the auspices and methodology of the American College of Surgeons.

How is the ATLS course delivered?

The ATLS programme is delivered through the academic partnership between BESTS and the Medical University of Plovdiv, using the high-technology resources of the Medical Simulation Training Centre (MSTC) of the Medical University of Plovdiv.

Is the ATLS course certified in Bulgaria?

Those who successfully complete the ATLS course receive an internationally recognised individual certificate issued by the American College of Surgeons, valid globally for a period of 4 years.
